Storage Wars is good and all, but it really bums me out when they buy storage lockers that clearly contain the contemporary contents of people’s lives. A lot of the storage lockers are clearly overflow of personal possessions and detritus, but sometimes they’re not weird antiques and ephemera. Sometimes they’re neatly packed with Rubbermaid totes, lamps and sofas. I just imagine that the former owners were foreclosure victims, or maybe apartment dwellers who became unemployed and then homeless. You know it’s probable.
